Question about dental insurance?

Agustina Stimmel: If you don't already have dental insurance, then it doesn't matter because you won't be able to get it for this. Your best bet is getting a discount plan and paying cash for the discounted rate.

Sharolyn Claybourn: Yes, it's very different. Because EVERYONE wants routine dental care, and because dental services are NOT high dollar ones, every files lots of small claims. Accordingly, there's no "sharing of cost" (how insurance works) between people who don't use it, and people who do use it. Because of that, there are waiting periods, dollar caps, high coinsurance, etc, so that private dental insurance rarely pays out more than it takes in. It's set up that way on purpose.Your best bet, your CHEAPEST bet, is to find a local dental school, and have the work done there....Show more

Theresia Fashaw: Yes, dental and health are separate.Know that dental may not pay for cosmetic surgery (replacement tooth). Not medically neccessary.Even if it do! es cover this, you would have to pay 50% out of pocket. This is on top of paying monthly premiums for a good company.Do not fall for cheap dental that only offer a discount card. These are not accepted by doctors. Why not get a job that offers benefits? They are around....Show more
