I am getting braces, but first I needed a palatal divider/expander and my teeth got father apart but then came back together(so they touch, before they didn't) so my gap has closed. My dad also had a gap when he was a kid, he never got braces, but his gap is closed now. So no matter what your gap will close. Hope This Helped!! :-)...
